<p>A resort outside of Las Vegas was the location for the annual Manhattan Software User Conference last week entitled ‘Reality Check.’</p>
<p>Craig Gillespie, CEO of Manhattan Software, welcomed the attendees with a recap of the Client Impact Committee meeting the day before: 20% increase in participation with nine new companies joining the group of 40 members.</p>
<p>In the past year, there have been fifteen product enhancements requested and completed by Manhattan for the CIC.</p>
<p>This was one ‘reality check’ but Craig looked at the past year with a broader reference to how much had happened since we last met: 5,500,000 new jobs added to the economy; corporate profits up $19 trillion; housing starts up 47% and each day we are creating 2.5 quintillion bytes of data adding up to 750 quintillion bytes last year alone.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><b>May 8, 2013, Boston, Massachusetts</b> &#8212; A Lockheed Martin team headed by Senior Architect Suresh Neelapala, in association with business consultant Ecodomus, has received the Business Alliance Award of Excellence for their work on the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract III (NISC) for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).</p>
<p><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-8556" style="margin: 5px;" alt="NISC Team" src="http://www.iwmsnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/NISC-Team-300x187.jpg" width="300" height="187" />The project used Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology and related leading edge technologies to help achieve FAA goals of improving building financial performance and operational efficiency from design to decommissioning.</p>
<p>The award was conferred by ARCHIBUS, Inc. (<a title="Archibus website" href="http://www.archibus.com">www.archibus.com</a>), the leading developer worldwide of real estate, infrastructure, and facilities management software, and was presented at the recently held International ARCHIBUS Users’ Conference in San Francisco.</p>
<p>Lockheed Martin’s management team also included Liyuan Kuan, Vadivu Natarajan, Filimon Berhe and Roya Abedi.</p>
<p>The Lifecycle BIM project was a proof of concept that demonstrated to the FAA the benefits of integrated lifecycle facility management. Utilizing these integrated workflows, it is projected that the FAA will save approximately $65,000,000 over a ten-year period.</p>
<p>Lockheed Martin’s team relied on ARCHIBUS software and expertise from ARCHIBUS Business Partner EcoDomus, headed by Igor Starkov, to capture, analyze, integrate, and distribute building lifecycle information.</p>
