Business Integration Group, Inc. (BIGe) Named Leader in the 2011 Gartner IWMS Magic Quadrant
TEMPE, AZ – February 2, 2011 – Business Integration Group, Inc. (BIGe), an innovative real estate technology and professional services provider, has recently been recognized as a “Leader” by Gartner, Inc., in their latest Magic Quadrant for Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS) that positions companies by their vision and ability to execute.
Gartner says that “The IWMS market is targeted at the efficient, coordinated management of the complete real estate/facilities life cycle and consists of integrated, Web-based, modular solutions that cover the five core areas of construction project management, real estate administration and management, space and facilities management, maintenance management and sustainability.”
Gartner also indicates “The rapid growth in multi-sourcing of facilities and real estate services increasingly requires that service providers, partners and other contract staff have ready and easy access “anywhere-anytime” to workplace data and processes via the portal interfaces that typify IWMS Web-based architectures.”
“We’ve moved from strength to strength with our platform and services and have a robust set of 2011 initiatives that will deliver exceptional value. It’s rewarding to be recognized as a Gartner “Leader” which is a testament to the passion, focus, commitment and execution of our talented employees”, said Michael T. Swanstrom, President & CEO of BIGe. “We’re extremely fortunate to have distinguished clients with whom we collaborate and learn using this knowledge to continuously improve our solutions”.

Is anyone not in the “Leader” quadrant?
Dear IWMS Watcher,
from the 11 vendors evaluated in Gartner’s publication, 7 are in the Leader Quadrant.
Yours Sincerely,
Steven Hanks
Really calls the filtering criteria into question and thus value of the entire report.
I agree wholeheartedly with IWMS Watcher. Gartner’s Magic Quadrant has long ago lost its relevancy. The “research” that comprises it is virtually non existent and entirely subject to manipulation by the vendors themselves. They thoroughly demonstrate their lack of understanding of the client base and uses of IWMS in businesses. Not much of a win for BIGe if you ask me…
No disrespect to any of the vendors – there are some really good products on the list – but the Gartner “Magic” Quadrant is a running joke in the retail and corporste real estate industry. Some of these so called “leaders” have massive capability gaps…and may only serve a segment of the market that the term IWMS is expected to cover.
At the request of several clients two years ago, I had published a paper that talked about this very subject – though only in the retail context. We are in the process of publishing a revised version this summer based on our interaction with over 50 retailers in the last 2 years, their technology needs, the products they currently use, or the ones they are selecting and/or implementing currently.

I got a 404 error. Is there another way to see your report?
Pranav,
thank you so much for your comment and the hyperlink to the 2009 Analysis. I would certainly recommend to read it.
