Celebrating Our First Birthday!
May 17th 2008 was a memorable moment for our website. Approximately about 1:30 PM the birth of a website specifically oriented at Integrated Workplace Management Systems that support the Real Estate and Facilities Management Professionals around the globe, was celebrated.
The above implicates that on Sunday May 17th 2009 we will be celebrating our first birthday! Over the last year much has changed. Here is a quick review of what happened during this very dynamic year.
Posts
Iwmsnews.com started out with just one post which is still one of our most visited posts on cost reductions in economic downturn.
At the moment iwmsnews.com has almost 300 posts about Integrated Workplace Management Systems and we will continue to write more about this extremely interesting topic.
Members
It probably doesn’t surprise you that I was the first member of our community. What we can all proud ourselves upon is that we’ve succeeded to build a community of over 1000 professionals supporting iwmsnews.com. All these members have contributed significantly to the success of iwmsnews.com.
I want to thank you all for your continued support!

Guest Editors
At the start we didn’t have any guest editors at iwmsnews.com. At the moment we have 5 of which Jim Turner’s FM Notes from the Field is read and greatly valued by the vast majority of our community.
For the coming few years we want to extend the number of guest editors to at least 15, writing about specific subjects in the IWMS domain. Topics can vary between technical posts, software selection, market developments but also financials, due diligence, etc.
Interviews
In our Thought Leader Series we have interviewed the most important Thought Leaders from the IWMS industry. Again, I want to personally thank Traci Doane, Pierre Guelen, Michael Schley, Craig Gillespie, George Ahn, Michael T. Swanstrom and Andy Fuhrman for participating in this wonderful series.
All of you are considered Thought Leaders and have driven this industry to where it is today.

Strategy
What can you expect from us in our second year of business?
We will focus on:
- Writing even more high quality posts (at least 3 posts per week)
- Securing additional guest editors
- Expanding our network
