BRAINTREE, MASSACHUSETTS, April 27, 2009–- The Planon Group, a global provider of enterprise real estate and facilities management software, has announced positive growth and earnings results for 2008. Total sales volume grew nearly 20% to $41.8 million, while software sales increased by almost 30%.
“Planon sales and operating results surpassed prior-year levels despite the global economic downturn,” said Pierre Guelen, Founder and CEO, Planon Group. “The Planon series of facility and real estate management software solutions delivers substantial cost savings and a clear, measurable return on investment. Organizations today are prioritizing both green and cost-reduction projects which put Planon on center stage.”
Planon, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2008, has grown between 15% and 25% annually since 1994. The continued success over the last few years led to the Company’s emergence as a global leader in the Integrated Workplace Management Solutions (IWMS) marketplace with this year’s results firmly establishing this position.
Planon experienced significant growth in 2008 across the globe. A number of major new clients were welcomed, including: Kodak, Sodexo, Unicredit and Groupama. Planon opened new offices in Paris, France and Hyderabad, India. The company has grown to a global workforce of 320 employees.
To further validate Planon’s leadership position, once again last year, Gartner recognized Planon as a leader in its IWMS Magic Quadrant Report. Globally, Gartner is one of the most authoritative market research agencies in the IT market. Gartner describes ‘leaders’ as “providers that perform well, have a clear vision of the market and continuously maintain their leading position.”
“First quarter 2009 is already off to a great start for Planon in North America,” said Jim Nauen, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Planon, Inc. “We have closed a number of significant transactions in a variety of industries, with notable strength in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech markets”.He added “Planon will play an important role in the growth of the IWMS North American marketplace in 2009 and beyond. We are putting in place a number of specific value-creating initiatives which will drive the Company’s future growth and the implementation of our enterprise solutions.”
Earlier this year, Planon introduced Green Workplace Economics to build upon its mission to help companies reduce costs and improve environmental sustainability. Companies are finding that by implementing Green Workplace Economics they can meet the demand in the marketplace for ways to drive profit and improve environmental sustainability by smarter utilization of facilities and real estate assets.
