Planon becomes sponsor of the IPD Space Code

IPD Occupiers launched the IPD Space Code at Monday 24 November in London. The IPD Space Code is a good practice framework for the collection, measurement and analysis of floor space information. Through use of common terminology, the Code can be applied to any type of office building, anywhere in the world.

With space optimisation being the most intelligent way to simultaneously reduce occupancy costs and reduce environmental impact without compromising the quality of your output, the Space Code couldn’t have come at a better time.

The objectives of the IPD Space Code can be summarised as follows:

  • Create a global unifying set of definitions for space measurement
  • Provide a transparent basis for measurement, comparison and benchmarking
  • Support the communication of data, information and knowledge
  • Improve our knowledge of how we use space in order to inform future workplace design
  • Help organisations make better decisions in a rapidly changing world

The Space Code is free to download and has been developed with support from Johnson controls, EDF Energy, Skandia, Price Waterhouse Coopers, PIMS Workspace, BBC and Planon.
